Pumpkin Patch round 2

Three posts in one day, can you believe it?!?  I'm in catch up mode.  This morning we took Leo to Underwood Farms in Moorpark.  I highly recommend this place, it was way better than the crappy dirt lot we ended up at last weekend.  This pumpkin patch is the real deal - wagon rides, pig races, weird climbing pygmy goats.  It was a great time, Leo enjoyed himself.  I think he'd like us to buy him one of those wagons they have there for carting around pumpkins - he sits in there with the cutest grin!  Until he decides to stand up and fall out into the wet hay.  Lesson learned, hopefully ;-)

Dad went out of sight for a minute, and this is the look he gave me

Checking out the goats and the cow - Leo made that suprised look the whole time

There's a goat on this bench!

You want me to touch it?!

Don't let the look fool you - he loved this part

No really - he loved it

The train was a huge hit, but our crappy camera did not capture the smiles

Pumpkin Carving

This week we carved our pumpkins.  Last year Leo was just a wee little man, so we didn't get into the holiday spirit too much, but this year I ACTUALLY CARVED A PUMPKIN!  You may not know this about me, but I don't like doing arts and crafts.  I have perfectionism issues, and since I am far from perfect, I prefer to be grumpy and boycott crafts of all sorts.  This year however, I kind of got into it.  I think it was a combination of motherhood and being a kindergarten teacher this year (which requires craftiness. period.).

Anyway, we carved our pumpkins and Leo...well...he couldn't have cared less about that part.  He did enjoy the finished product though!  Here's the end result of our efforts:

Clearly I am excited!

Here I am, trying to keep Leo interested

Leo was not so sure about the "guts"

Leo's pumpkin - this picture makes it look large, it's actually quite small

The pumpkin I carved, can you believe it?! Not too shabby...

The Fowler family a la Jack O Lantern

We make a cute family!

Jack O Lantern Fun!

Leo is pretty enthralled with Jack O Lanterns these days.  He stares at them and wants to touch them.  Thursday afternoon, he sat on the front porch for about an hour doing this...

Pumpkin Patch 2010

Yep, I know it.  I fail at blogging. Turns out, raising a kid is really time consuming, especially when you also work full time.  Nonetheless, excuses are like...well, you know.  So, here I am again, and I will really try to keep up with this darn thing, especially with the holidays fast approaching.

This Sunday, papa and I took Leo-man to his first ever pumpkin patch!  We went to Forneris Farms in Mission Hills - not the greatest pumpkin patch ever, gotta say.  We're actually going to try out Underwood Farms next weekend and hopefully get a more "farm-y" experience.

Despite all that, we did walk around and pick some pumpkins.  Leo was dead asleep when we arrived, but woke up pretty quickly and then proceeded to have a great time!

Leo fast asleep upon arrival

I was stoked! Leo was confused...

Where the hell are we people?

Oh!  I love pumpkins!!

High Five, pumpkin friend!

Leo thinks we should always travel by wagon

Caution: woman driver ;)

Leo was shouting at the pumpkins

eeew, stinky pumpkins.  P.U.!

Leo chose his pumpkin using his sense of taste

I freakin' love this pumpkin!
